Engine ID number on 3B motors

I assume someone on the list knows exactly where the engine ID number is on
a 3B motor (on a '91 200Q)?  I gather from the Bentley that the number on
the MC is on front left, just below the cylinder head, and that on the 3B
it's on the right, at the back.  I can't find it, try as I might.  Is this
because it's located exactly where a bunch of hoses are, and therefore
isn't meant to be located?
