Re: Parts Fraud?
The dealer here in 'beautiful Nova Scotia' sells 'genuine,'
after-market and used parts. Only game in town, and I believe in all
of this province. They are up-front with what's what, ie. whether
Audi factory parts or after-market. What I have found is that owning
an Audi has me on a first-name basis with the parts 'personnel'.
Common after-market parts like brake, belt, exhaust, etc. can be had
for a better price elsewhere, but it's very beneficial to be able to
go in and check out what they have when you're stuck and be able to
talk like friends.
What's my point? A dealership is made up of many people, cogs in a
wheel. If you want to buy, it's the salesman, getting warranty work
or service you can't do, the techs, got an oldie you're tryin' to keep
on the road, parts department. Get to know these people, they treat
you with the same respect that you give them. Sorta like life, ain't
it?
Gotta go now 'cause my 16-year-old son just pulled the plug on my
soapbox and I have to try and disappear into the crowd. Last thing I
heard was "Dad, I _have_ to get my driver's license." Gonna try and
put that off for a bit.
