THe comments on the subject by Paul and others make good sense.  They did
mostly get it right by '91.  The best part is that many incremental
improvements were made in late '90-'91 that most people don't notice right
away.  Reading the TSBs is a real education.  I've been surprised at how
much is shared between the '91 20 valve and the S4.  And if it isn't the
same out of the box, it converts over pretty easily (like the brakes and
suspension).
