I can't speak for the value, VERY new cars are difficult to price.

I bought a '95 A6QW last spring with 39K, now have 52K on it.
I also have a 10 valve and a 20 valve I5 (no turbos). I think
the V6 is quicker than either, although it's close to the 90Q20V.
These engines do require some time to break in and get up to speed.
If you mean a REALLY new passat (99), it is almost the same engine.
The Passat go the 30V V6, the A6 probably only has 12V.
