Thanks! re: antilock problems

Hello again, everyone!

I'd like to thank you all for the mailbox *full* of answers I got after
my inquiry regarding the failure of my antilock system after having cv
shafts and wheel bearings replaced on my '88 Q90. I finally got a day
off work to look at it today, and could find only one possible problem:

I removed both front wheels, and the wiring appeared intact. It looked
as if the hub assemblies had been removed as a unit, without
disconnecting either the brake lines or the antilock sensor wiring.
However, at the rear of the right front hub(which had the new cv
shaft), the splines of the shaft are visible through a notch where the
cv joint attaches to the hub. This notch is not visible (at least,
not *easily* visible) on the left side. My theory is that the guy who
installed the shaft somehow turned something the wrong way when he
installed it. Does this sound reasonable? It would the explain the
failure of the antilock system if the splines on the cv shaft were
invisible to the sensor...Or maybe I just need to brush a little more
dirt away. I did a pretty good
job, though (I think) looking for a complimentary slot on the left hub.

On a side note, I took advantage of the opportunity presented by having
the thing on jack stands to change the oil and filter. I've been
reading the thread regarding synthetic vs. dino oil with a good deal of
interest, but decided (due mainly to finances :< ) to replace the oil
with dino this time around. I found a blasted Jiffy Lube oil filter on
the car, though! Honestly, I could have cried.

To balance that: I found a 1/4" nut driver in perfect shape (except for
some grease) when I removed the bottom sealer panel (or whatever the
sheet of hard plastic that protects the bottom of the motor from road
grunge is called). I took the thing off and the nut driver rolled into
my driveway! Pretty cool.

Again, thanks to all who answered! Your answers were appreciated, even
though it did take me a while to respond; I've been insanely busy
installing a computer network where I'm employed, and have also been
trying to get my other car (an '81 VW Scirocco, just in case anyone
cares ;> ) working, and simply haven't had the time to do much else.
