RE: Quattro vs. 4Motion vs. Syncro???

check out http://www.eskimo.com/~eliot/awd.html for a very good summary.

the 4motion is basically a similar in concept to a vc (albeit not similar in
execution) with much faster spool-up time. it's big advantage is the
ability, via the control valve, to change the dynamics of the wet clutch in
real time. like a vc, the 4motion is most rigorously classified as a
part-time awd system.

	Hi all,
Now that I see VW coming into the 4WD scene again with
4Motion I was wondering if there's technical articles out there that

describe the Quattro/Syncro/4Motion differences and which
	systems are more robust.

For that matter, of Subaru/Volvo/VW/Audi, is there anyone
who
knows enough about these systems to say what the high points of
each are? Of course I know its the Quattro list so biases aside.
