oil change

Hi,

I'm about to do an oil change and I need a little advice.
I bought  some mobil 1 , 0W-40 on recommendation that it's the best 
stuff. but is that "0W" bit alright to use in my original 1800 8v 
engine with 218k miles.
Someone told me that it's too thin for such a high mileage car and 
will clogg up the airfilter and burn more oil. Is that right?

and is a 10k oil change and 5k filter change right for this oil/car?
