Re: Audi Turbo Differences
Thats odd,
All the KH motors I have been into including the one in my
driveway out of my 85' 5kt had water cooled turbos almost identical to the
k26 on the MC. Although the numbers are different and I have heard from
someone (Scott Mockery I think) that the KH water cooled k26 has a
slightly smaller exhaust turbine than the MC unit. Well see. I post to
the list when I have a chance to measure the difference. Wont know what
difference in power it makes though unless I decide to put that turbo on
the MC motor which I might. Then I can compare it to the other Turbo
4kq's that are around but I will have a lightened flywheel so it wouldn't
really be fair.
Anyhow, THats odd. I guess Audi did both. Maybe 84' was Air
Cooled and 85' was Water. Ti Kan has an 84' I think. Maybe he can
tell us what his is. Anyone else have one that would like to chime in???
Anyhow, thanks for the Data Point. Yet another Audi mystery. :-)
