Re: should I buy A6Q avant
Just need to ad my $.02,
While I agree that that A6Q is not a tremendous accelerator, the cars
ability to move is acceptable once one gets used to driving it. Sure it
lacks whiplash, pin you in the seat so you can't grab a $20 off the
dash acceleration of say a Carrera turbo, but so what. I don't think
you'd want to be throwing the family around like that anyhow, it is more
than capable of getting you into traffic if need be. Besides mine has
seemed to improved with mileage. Also you could hardly ask for a
smoother power plant, and with quattro to boot.
On the subject of volvo, the S.O. looked at one recently nowhere as
nice for the $$, and also the AWD system is not like Quattro, it
functions as mainly fwd, something like 80/20, until slip occurs then
transfers more power to the rear. I drove a volvo in the rain and
intentionally, tried to make it slide the power transfer was noticeable,
not to mention unnerving to have the car suddenly come back on line.
Finally, IMO, it is far better to have a car that does many things very
well, than to have one that does one outstandingly and the rest with
mediocrity.
