Re: Do it yourself garages.



Some military bases/posts still have Auto Craft Shops, where servicemembers
can work on their own vehicles and sign out the tools they don't own.
Unfortunately, these shops are now few in number due to the military force
drawdown and an era of tight budgets.  Their disappearance is not so
important to those of us who earn enough to afford emergency auto repair,
but they were (and still are) a valuable way for young soldiers to save
precious money by doing "self-help" repairs.
