I think you are saying how to get the adjustment bolt out.  the pivot
bolt goes through the alt. bracket at each end and the alt in the
middle, nothing to spread out there, it's a single casting.

Worst case scenario - remove the alt bracket from the car (3 allen head
bolts) and try to get the bolt out on the bench.
