RE: New $4
I concur Bill. Ouch indeed.
I find it rather amusing that BMW has the nerve to tout the new 3 series as
"the first time a true 6 cylinder BMW has been available for under $30,000
in X number of years."
The opening price is $27,900 for the 323i, and there is an automatic $800
destination charge on all 323s - so we're up to $28,700 without an option
one. For $28,700 you get the prized "6 cylinder BMW" with leatherette
interior, plastic interior trim, non-metallic paint (red, white or black),
and STEEL WHEELS w/ PLASTIC WHEEL COVERS! I could contain myself up until
that last one. As the self-proclaimed "ultimate" sports sedan manufacturer,
there shouldn't be ANY model that doesn't have alloys. Come on now. I'm
not trying to pick on BMW necessarily, I'm just stunned that you can spend
well over $30,000 on a car and still drive off the lot on steel wheels and
hub caps. Wholly cow.

Going to be very interesting to see how the new generation of M3s is
priced.
Saw 3 new 3281's on a dealer's lot the other day. Load them up with sport
package, premium package, and some other sutff and they all broke the
$40,000 mark.
Ouch.
