Maybe that's why the pivot bolt was such a tight fit in the alternator.

Funny you should mention a Corvette. I have a 120a 'Vette alternator that I
had mounted in my Toyota truck. I still have the alternator, and have a few
times considered putting it into one of my Audi's. It would require some
custome bracketry, like it did in my truck. I just don't know yet if there are
any voltage regulator/dash warning light compatibility-type issues.
