RE: ABS Brakes ???
I don't know about the grinding sound you're describing, but my Audi 90's
ABS system make a horrible racket. The best way I can describe the sound
would be as if someone were rapping on the brake rotor with a tiny hammer -
it's a chattering, resonating, dinging noise. I suspect it's a function of
the brake shoes vibrating against the rotors - afterall, that's essentially
how the ABS works.
If I not mistaken though, isn't your car new? I'd think they would have
modified the ABS over the past 10 years. Fortunately, my 90 has an ABS
override switch that simply turns the ABS off on command. Perhaps there's a
means to shut down the ABS on your car so that you might test the theory
that the noise is truly ABS and not a brake problem? Perhaps an ABS control
fuse? Just a theory.

Subject: ABS Brakes ???
Thank you for the insight into ABS operation. I do have one last
question. What causes the metal grinding sound and feel? Are all ABS
systems like this? Since this is my first one I don't have another to
compare to.
Thanks!
