Re: Competition Tires for 4000Q
I have no experience with non-stock wheel sizes. BFG R1's work very well.
I use a 205/55/14. The advantage of a smaller tire than stock is that it
will effectively lower your car and give it lower gearing as well. I know
someone in the quattro club that uses 15 inch Borbet (type C?). She also
uses BFG R1's. I don't know the size, but it is probably a 205/50/15.
(Note that quattro club events are non-competitive, so modifications don't
mean a thing -- except to make it more fun, of course.)
You realize that non-stock wheel sizes puts you in a more competitive class,
and that the soon-to-be-turbo moniker on your 4kq will put it into really
tough competition. Good luck and have fun!
