This "new" road salt is probably being used here in Minnesota.
Almost every time my '93 90S sits for a few hours, I come out and drive
away and the first couple stops, I can hear a grinding noise, and no my
pads aren't wore down. My fiancee's '96 Mazda Protege tends to do the
same thing. First time it happened in my car, I panicked, thinking my
front pads were down to zero and scraping metal on metal.
