AutoThority in Car and Driver.

The March '99 Car and Driver has a side article on page 117 in their Long
Term review of a VW Passat. They stated the installation took 15 minutes
and that the chip boost pressure by as much as 5 psi, lifts the rev limiter
from 6800 to 7000 and eliminates the 127-mph governor. C&D took the car to
a local Dyno shop which measured 195 horsepower. They recorded the
following acceleration numbers:

                        Factory AutoThority
0-60 7.9 6.6
0-100 22.8 18.4
1/4-mile 16.2@87 15.2@93

FWIW, they liked the Passat, with the only real negative being the high
maintenance costs during the 40,000 mile test, even with the first 24,000
miles being free? They also pointed out a crack in the windshield, which
also occurred in a long term test of an A4.
