OK, so I'm behind on reading my q-digests... I'd still like to add a little
to this thread:
The Dutch army used to have hundreds of Iltises, which were sold off when
they were replaced. Last I heard of it was a couple of years ago on TV,
some car show where they looked at them- bargains at between $700 and $1500
for a fully functional Iltis. I was attracted by the weird exterior (I'd
tried to buy a DKW Munga before, for those of you in the know) and the low
price- plus VW quality.
I've seen a couple around here, all still in matt-green paintwork. Ask Eric
Renneisen for his pics of the one we spotted.
