Waxing and Polishing
Speaking of washing, waxing and polishing your car... I want to thank
whoever it was on the list that recommended trying the Zaino Bros products.
Their site... www.zainobros.com lists all their stuff. I greet all product
superiority claims with my large skepticism filter but took a chance and
have been very pleased with their stuff. My shop shelves are loaded with
mostly used containers of Meguaires, Classic, Zymol, Mothers, Harley, Blitz
and the like so I'm familiar with trying to make things shine. The Zaino
Bros stuff works and it is embarrassingly easy to use... essentially no
rubbing, no wax residue and it doesn't discolor the adjacent black rubber.
I've never seen a glass cleaner that works as well as theirs.
Although it may seem like it, I'm actually not sitting here holding a bottle
of their show car polish alongside my face and smiling hugely. I have no
financial interest in the company, and just to balance things out... I'm not
wowed by the way their stuff smells. Has a kind of "essence d'urinal cake"
to it, actually. Considered hanging a rag with a dollop of Zymol or Blitz
on it around my neck to complete the experience.
The thing that I did do before using their stuff is to use a clay bar to
remove all the grit and pollen and whatever from the surface. Get it clean
first and then polish. Was so pleased with the way the pearl white quattro
turned out that I did the wife's "Antelope over Green" Trooper, for the
first time in a couple of years, and it now sits aglistening in the
driveway.
So, on my First Shelf of car care products currently rests: Zaino Bros
bottles, Forever Black, low-gloss Armorall, Lexol and Clay Magic.
Good suggestions on washing techniques in the two recent posts... pros at
work!
Regards, Gross
