5000 tq Wheel Alignments
Hi Russ,
I,ve had the same "problems" with my 87 5000q ever since I've owned it. It
was well taken care of when I bought it w 89,000 miles. I immediately put
on four new tires and had an alignment. Still wasn't very good IMO. I
can't imagine any joints where worn out when I purchased the car, it was
only 4 yaers old then, and not driven hard at all.
I have chased this for years with different shocks, other types of new
tires (stock size), new control arms / tie rods/ rack etc., and more
alignments to no avail. The shop I go to knows how to line up cars... and I
give them my Bentley for reference when I go there.
So I've been living with this car's twitchiness for years...its really my
only complaint with the car. Its still quite drivable, just annoying as
hell. (Like flying an old biplane)??! I now have 208,000 miles and I've
had a modded computer with 15 psi boost for about 80,000 of those miles. Is
this a trait these cars (87 5000tq) possess ? I've heard quite a few others
complain about this same thing for this model...
My 91 200q 20v is totally different. ie it is fine.
