Re: Audi of America, are you listening?

Hi folks,
A couple of points about my previous post(s).

1. I am the type of person who does not attempt to back up arguements
that I don't fully believe in. I have the impression that Audi could do
a heck of alot more with upgrading/improving parts. I'm more than
willing to back off this particular part of the issue a bit, because I'm
just not that familiar with the specifics of parts improvements over
time.

2. What I do know about is this:

  a. It is always always always cheaper to keep customers than to get
new ones.

  b. Old/Current customers are the source of vast untapped profits
for many companies, especially Audi.

  c. Audi does a piss poor job of keeping current customers
happy past the 3yr/50K mark.

  d. Audi can improve.

4. All of my comments refer only to the situation in America. I have no
personal experience with Audi outside of the U.S. None of my comments
are directed to the product as it compares in image to Lexus or
Mercedes. I could care less what other people think of me for driving
brand X car. Sorry Dave, that is not what I was talking about.

5. if I was in the new car market, I would never consider purchasing a
new Audi. I might consider leasing one, but I would wouldn't keep it
past the warranty period. Although my passion for Audi is strong, my
distaste resulting from AoA's business practices is stronger.

BTW: I am aware that AoA is investing big money into refurbishing alot
of dealerships. Those plans include an attempt to standardize the "look"
of Audi dealerships. They also attempt to increase the sale of
complementary items for Audi, such as accessories or clothing. All the
new dealerships have an "Audi Boutique". I wish they would spend more
time working to improve their service rather than their appearance.
