Superchips no longer advertises the 12v chip.  TAP advertises it, but if
you ever ask they say "oh, it won't work on your car."

The 90 doesn't have the same ECU as the earlier Audis with the
mysterious Hitachi chip.  The V6 got a 16-bit ECU with 64K ROM, as
opposed to the 8-bit Hitachi.  I think that there was another ECU change
in mid-93 but I'm not sure.

Basically, no one wants to touch the V6 chip; from what I've heard, it's
exceptionally complicated and has lots of weird little exception cases
lying around that make it hard to alter...that coupled with the fact
that there's a minuscule (at best) market for the updated chip, means no
one messed with it.
