Subject: 5kcstq Speakers
I have a 1986 5kcstq.
Will someone please tell me what the sizes are for the stock speakers?
I am guessing the following:
Dash - 4"
Front Doors - 5.25" and a Tweeter
Rear Doors - Tweeter
Rear Deck - 5.25"
I think that totals 10 speakers. Are these the correct sizes?
Does anyone have recommendations about replacement speakers (sizes,
models, or brands) that will drop perfectly into stock locations, or at
least easily with slight modification?
I intend to replace the radio and then also install an active crossover
and my own amps. I want to use component speakers with separate tweeters
and woofers using passive crossovers in the dash and front doors. I plan
woofers using a low pass filter (<2.5kHz) without tweeters in the rear
deck for fill. A sub in the trunk will handle the low end. I want to
utilize stock speaker locations for every speaker except the tweeters I
am adding on the dash and, of course, the sub.
TIA,
Eric R. Kissell
