I just put 2 2 way 5.25" in the dash.  And they fit.  All you need to do is
cut the plastic cross pieces out of the cover to clear the tweeter.  I also
put a resistor network of 2 ohm parallel and 4 ohm serial across the dash
speaker to make it an 8 ohm load.  If you replace the stock 8 ohm dash
speaker with a 4 ohm speaker, all you can hear is the dash speakers and not
the door speakers.  However, properly amped (+15 amps per channel), the
stock door and dash speakers don't actually sound that bad.
