<WTB> Early 5000 transaxle, type MM or MN (and information wanted)

wanted to buy:

early (1981-1982) audi 5000 transaxle, front wheel drive.  Must be type MM
or MN.  Must have 43:9 (4.78) ring & pinion.

Also, can someone verify which cars were originally equipped with these
transaxles?  Was it the diesels, or perhaps a european only model?

I found this transmission type on the parts microfiche and would like to buy
one used.  Ultimately, I hope to rebuild my porsche 944 transaxle with this
ring & pinion, for racing.
