You need to check this _NOW_.

Yes, the Woodruff key does look like a slice of orange when it's out
of the cam shaft, but it's quite small and very easily lost on a
workshop floor.  Once it's in place in the cam shaft, it looks like
a raised bar of metal.  This engages in the slot in the cam gear to
locate the cam wheel precisely relative to the cam lobes.  If you had
to turn the cam wheel to align the slot when refitting it, then don't
worry - that _was_ the Woodruff key.
