I can't address the A4, but want to point out that on the 1988-91 80/90s,
the rear defroster is the antenna, and a filter/amplifier box in the drivers
D pillar separates the dc for defrosting from the ac for the radio.  Thus,
it is not _necessary_ that they be separate traces.
