    Test the fuel system pressure to see if the check valve is holding
residual pressure in the system. A bad check valve will give the starting
problems you describe.

Normally it fires right up, but on occasion it wont start first try and I'll
then depress the gas pedal (against the manual's orders) and it starts right
up. Last night it wouldn't start regardless of throttle position. Any ideas
would be appreciated before I resort to having it taken by flatbed the 40
miles to my mechanic. TIA
