Re: Elusive and Rare MB 500E (non-Audi)

Summer of '92 I was in Stuttgart at the Porsche plant taking delivery of
a RS America and taking a tour of the plant.  'Round the corner we walk
and here sits at least a dozen MB 500E bodies waiting to be assembled in
the plant.  None were painted, just covered with zinc as a rust
inhibiter.  They were stacked two (maybe three) high on shipping racks
and just looked beautiful; kinda shimmering in the Stuttgart sun.
