4kq upgrade??  I have not heard of any problems with the 4kq trannys.  They
are stout and have been known to be used in rally apps as well as many turbo
apps.  There is a northwest lister running ~350-400hp through his and had no
problems.
What makes you think yours is going bad?  If you need the tranny there are
several listers including myself who have 4kq trannys just sitting around
collecting dust.
