My 100Q does this. The clamps that hold the pipes together
near the cat are loose, and keep rattling despite tightening
all the time. I live with it a bit.
The heat shield is also a common problem. Mine seems to have
been taken off somehow :-)
If it is in fact the cat "guts", you need to replace it.
I think rapping on the cat with your knucles (WITH CAR COLD!)
can ascertain if anything is loose in there.
