A few months back I changed out my factory tape-deck for a Blaupunkt
Madison, still using the factory amplified rear speakers. I installed 5 1/4
inch Cerwin-Vega speakers in the same holes the 4 1/2 inch factory speakers
were mounted. The speakers were component style so I still have use of the
tweeters in the rear. The sound and bass response is great, especially if
no one is sitting in the back seat. I considered using an amp, but didn't
want to deal with the wiring or taking up any more trunk space.

Cutting into the rear deck could offer some interesting installation work.
Given the extreme angle of the rear glass. Let us know what you do.
