UK police, (low audi content)

Had a surprise yesterday. I flashed a friend I spotted going past,
turned round and pulled alongside him in the entrance to a pub car
park in Alderley Edge. I then noticed this golf come understeering
heavily (what they do rather well) into the entrance, proceed to do a
3 point turn and block me in. These 2 young guys - about 25 yolds,
got out. At first I thought they were going to ask directions or ask
about my car or something but then one shoved a warrant card in my
face! They said it was just a routine check and that we looked
decidedly dodgy. I think they were drugs squad. Leaving, they
wheel spun away. Anyway, they didn't make me show my documents down
the station so I'm not that pissed off.

What got me was that they didn't look a bit like police. I'm normally
a bit suspicios when I see/get followed by a newer rover or
something but never anything like this. They were the kind of people
I wouldn't think twice about going past (breaking the law) on a
country road etc.

The car was grey 88 1800 golf gl with nice, non standard alloys and
they were young and very casually dressed. so if u get pulled over in
S. Manchester don't say I didn't warn u! (although I don't think a
golf is any match for any quattro)

I was stopped by a marked police car the DAY before literally no more
than 1 MILE from where I got stopped yesterday!!!
Within 7 months that means I've been stopped 4 times by the police
for doing absolutely nothing wrong! Is that age discrimination or
what!!. God knows what it would be like if I was black.

Is it just me or is being stopped and having hassle by the police so
much infringing my right to freedom?

I know that S. Man police also have an unmarked Golf VR6, a BMW 328
and I think a volvo T5 estate. (I know about the BMW because a mate
got stopped by it and gained 3 points. he said the only way u could
tell was a by noticing a camera on the dash and, if ur observant, blue
lights in the grill (In this country I don't even think a ur-q could
get away from a 328!))
