Okay.  Thanks to the listers who helped me get the panel off!

I found it incredibly difficult to remove the cable hook for the interor
latch release from the handle...not looking forward to putting that back
in!!  I think the difficulty though, was that the lock pull knob (formerly
called the lock post) was jammed in the panel...thus, I couldn't move the
panel left or right...

I found the problem:

If one follows the lock pull knob down, you will eventually reach a white
plastic crank...it connects the pull knob to the cable which goes to the
latch. This plastic crank is connected to the door sheet metal via a
plastic plug.  Anybody know the part # for the plastic plug!?

Am I better off hitting a wrecker tomorrow?

Would check the EKTA CD, but the copy to be copied hasn't arrived yet (mail
is late...)
