Subject:	Car stereo advice needed: Clarion

Hi all,

I've decided to replace the JVC in-dash radio/CD with a more modern unit
with RDS and red illumination. Could anyone tell me anything against a
Clarion unit? It fulfills all the criteria I have, sounds good to me, is
priced decently and looks quite good in an Audi dash. Can't find any
Alpines here, so choices are limited to Philips (no, thanks!), Blaupunkt,
Grundig, Sony, Pioneer, Clarion and JVC. Most of these sound OK, but look
horrible in my dash and have Xmas-tree multicolour lighting which is not to
my taste. No, I can't afford the superb Becker...

Please reply to me privately, as I'm pretty sure no-one wants another ICE
thread...

TIA

Tom
