In any event there could be things to be gained by swapping the I5t for the
smaller 4 cylinder turbo.  As others have pointed out the engine weighs less
... but it is shorter as well.  Given the fact that the front driveshafts on
the ur-q necessarily come out of the tranny's bellhousing and the engine is
longitudinally mounted the conversion would lower the polar moment of
inertia for the car ... which would not be a bad thing ...

While I hate to say it, in this respect the BMW 325ix and Honda Vigor did
Audi one better by having the front drive go through the engine oil pan ...
I wouldn't trade any of my quattros for either of them though ...
