Being that I recently drove home my 99 A42.8Q also, I feel your pain. Since
the ding is on the roof rail it is probably going to be less likely that
heat/freeze will be effective. But since neither hot water or dry ice will
likely hurt your paint you should try it. If you want to really get crafty
and have access to it-and if you do you probably already know this- liquid
nitrogen would also be effective in getting it really cold, but who knows
what -146C would do the paint.
By the way what is pescharged?
