Buying 874KSQ

Looks like I will buy 87 4KSQ I saw today. 140k mi.
Desperately seeking advice / comments / BTDT.

Paint job is recent and crummy IMO. Very shiny but has enamel look. Also
masking some rust. Engine runs smooth, appears free of oil / vacuum leaks and
idles low and steady. Tranny / clutch are new and feel good. New exhaust -
sounds quiet. Buzz from fuel pump, sounds fairly steady. Recently had front
end work, tie rod ends without alignment. Steering is very tight and
responsive although wheel is off center. Also a hum / tire squeal can be heard
at certain steering position. I believe you guys have said alignment is
extremely important on a Q. Am assuming that is the cause of the squeal. Also
switched diff lock to #1 position. Aside from not releasing for quite some
time, the squeal I referred to in the steering held constant until diff lock
finally released (took a while).

Electricals seemed pretty good. Gauges, windows, sunroof, power locks and
mirrors all functioning. Cruise is dead. Hope it's a pedal switch. Headliner
is worn in a few places, especially at the sunroof (what kind of job is this
replacement?) Black Quattro seats are worn - especially driver's. Anyone have
black interior? Leather?
Water Temp warning light flashes constantly, although gauge seems good. Faulty
sensor?
There was a four wire plug hanging loose in the trunk - long cable with three
female, one male connector. What is this?

Any advice, warnings, blessings will be greatly appreciated. Would not be
considering this car if I did not have you guys to depend on.
