Mine came with an adapter to allow hard wiring.  It has a socket for the
Main Unit and one for Accessory.  Checking it with the VOM, the Main Unit
socket is wired for + on contact # 2, and - on contact # 3 (See below).  The
Accessory socket is reversed, + on # 3, - on # 2.
