Re: Dealership Parts and Service Experiences

>>> I have two comments. First, I went to Audi dealer ONCE. Never again
unless to buy a new vehicle and maybe not even then.

It's a pity that many have expressed poor service at their local
dealerships. Having been a VWPA parts manager during college, I always made
sure that we hired enthusiastic folks that were happy to be there, that
really got off on being around these cars all the time. I actually wax
nostalgic about my years in the dealership. (One of my tests: when walking
an applicant around the dealership during the interview, watch their
reaction to the dealer's son's 1979 Porsche 930 and 198x Sport Quattro
parked out back...)

Which is why I frequent businesses that feel the same. Just to refute the
list trend on dealerships, I get nothing but excellent service from my local
shop, Continental Motors in Fairfield, CT. The parts and service guys are
friendly and helpful, even when they know I'm only trolling for information
for a "project."

Granted, I do spend money with Carlsen in California when it's a big-ticket
item, but I always ask Continental if they can come close to the price
first. I much prefer keeping my money local and keeping these guys in
business whatever little way I can.
