Re: 5ktq Fuel Economy

<<snip bit about test methods used to determine mileage with high octane
vs. regular gas>>

Another datapoint. My summer job was in a town about 120 miles from where
I lived, and I would often come home for the weekends. I did numerous
tests and found that I got about 2-3 mpg better with Supreme. I always
filled up on my way home, at the Chevron or the Texaco, and did almost no
city driving. The car was an '84 Chrysler Laser Turbo (it was fast, and
that's about the only good thing about it). The owner's manual specified
regular unleaded, but I felt it performed better with supreme. I would
get 28-31mpg if I averaged 65, 22-25mpg if I averaged 100. (Idaho has
quite a bit of wide open road.)
