Re: N.C. Audi Mechanic

As Rick said, Crossroads European is a good bet. I've always been
pleased with the service they give. Basically, they will fix your car,
and they will fix it right the first time. However, they will charge you
an arm and a leg for it. If you're talking about an S4 though, I hardly
think it's worth taking it to a lesser mechanic- go ahead and spend
the money to get it done right. I've got a V8 and they are always able
to diagnose and repair it properly. One side-benefit is that they give
free oil changes (including the proper OEM filter) as long as you are
a loyal (ie., paying) customer- of course they use it as an opportunity
to see what is wrong with your car and have you pay them to fix it,
but they are generally right on the mark even then. They are located
on Hwy 55 in Durham (RTP).

European Performance is also well-liked in the area, and they do a
lot of race-prepped Porsche work. They have a car lot attached to
their shop with lots of interesting and exotic cars (I saw a BMW M1
there last year). However, I looked at a V8 they had and had it
checked out Crossroads European and found out that it was a real
lemon, so I'd be cautious about buying from them- but the service
department is a separate entity from the sales, so don't let that
affect your opinion of their mechanics. They are located in Raleigh.

I recall an S4 in Greensboro not long ago- is that the one that your
friend is buying?
