Interesting Solution - 5kcstq warm start problem

Greetings Qlisters!

My thanks to those who responded to my posts of a couple weeks ago.
Thought you'd all find this diagnosis interesting...

Patient Information:

Age: 13 years, 128k miles
Sex: decidedly female
Race: 5kcstq
Complexion: Pearly white
Previous owners: one

Symptoms:

Starts the morning like a champ.
Will run as true as the day is long.
Shut her off and leave her more than 5 minutes and she won't speak to
you again for at least an hour.
Once she cools down, it's like nothing was ever wrong.
(sound familiar?)

Initial diagnosis (confirmed on the list):

She gets the vapors.
Classic vapor lock symptoms.
Crank the engine, pull the plugs, dry as a bone.
Not leaky injectors. Probably leaky CSV, stuck check valve, or bad
pressure accumulator.

To quote another thread: "move over rover, let Audi take over".

Dr. Audi says:

Blood pressure's fine! 38/80 (38 psi residual/80 psi pumped)
"Not vapor lock" I says? "Fraid knot" says he.
"The old girls got no spark when she's hot" he goes on.
"My official diagnosis - Hall unit's goin' south" he concludes.
"Course ye cain't get that from here. Gotta buy a whole distributor"

So, had her buttoned back up and called Shokan from the waiting area.
Guaranteed used part'll be here Monday.

HTH any that needs it. Thought it an interesting twist myself.

TTFN
