Stabilant 22

Dear Listers,

Recent comments led me to believe that Stabilant 22
might be the answer to the "flat lining" on my display.
In that thread there was much discussion on price. I've
been in touch with the manufacturer, and bought some here
in Australia, so here's the story:
Here in Australia the CONCENTRATE costs US$85 for a 15 ml
bottle. It is then diluted in the ratio 4:1 with either
ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, yielding 75 ml of useable
product. Total cost, about US$85.10. This can be divided
into five 15 ml bottles (or 10 7.5 ml bottles) giving
ample product, at only a few $ a bottle, for the sort of
use the average Audi owner would put it to. I expect the
price in the US to be lower than here, as our taxes are
high, and shipping costs need to be included.

One wrinkle: Nowhere on the bottle or the packaging does
it say that it is the concentrate. The only way I knew
was that I got a phone call from the manufacturer (in
Canada) telling me that the Australian distributor has
precisely 1 bottle, and it is CONCENTRATE. The local
distributor tells me he regularly sells 1 bottle every
4 years, so doesn't hold a large stock! All previous
purchases have been to international airlines, so he
was interested in why I was buying it.

I have yet to actually use it. It is currently in the
hands of the Chem. dept. at my university, being diluted.
Any Australian listers who want a 15 ml bottle, just email
me privately. (I considered sending Phil a .gif file
of a photo of the bottle, but decided against it).
