A4 Brake problem resolved

JC, please read Andy Hedin's post 3/1 for a recap of A4 brake service. I
turned the rear pistons and pushed with a C-clamp until they retracted.It
wasn't easy.I replaced my front pads with Rofrens when the car was new
and should have done the rears then too.I ate through the rears in twelve
thousand miles and they created lots of dust.See A4 org FAQ for
comprehensive article on changing pads.Re bleeding, the easiest tool I've
used is Gunson's Eezi-bleed but be careful as you pressurize the
system.You don't want to spray brake fluid all over yourself or your
car.Thanks again to everyone for helping me through the dilemma.Steve
Schmidt   PS I read in the Star magazine that you should never bleed
brakes by the two person method,one pumps the pedal while the other works
the bleeder, as this forces the master cylinder beyond it's normal travel
and destroys the rubber piston!!
