Advice on buying '94 100CSQ or '95-'96 A6Q Wagon

Hey Q-Listers,
I'm trying to locate a '94, '95, or '96 quattro wagon in the SF Bay Area and
have a couple of questions:
 
-- I've read positive posts here before re Steve Krenzen; does anyone have
recent advice, confirmation or rebuttal?
-- I've been told that "The A6 is twice the car the 100 is."  True?
-- Any suggestions for independent Audi mechanics in Marin County or S.F.
for pre-purchase evaluation?
-- Assuming the same cosmetic appearance, would you pay significantly more
for a CA car vs. a UT or CO car?
