Pilot Bearing removal without the "tool"

The tool is cheap, I recommend it (also those "truck" dudes have them - Snap-
on, Matco, etc.). For those without it (and before got mine) here's the
alternative. Put a thin grinding wheel on the dremel. Remove bearing
innnerds with screwdriver. Cut two fore aft cuts on the bearing inner
surface. Go almost all the way thru. Get screwdriver with hammer, and punch
just to the side of the cuts, the bearing shell will shear the cut the rest of
the way thru. Remove shell. Install with socket (not recommended) and or
dowel (wood or brass). Don't forget to put some lubricant on the pilot
bearing lip seal (you don't do this, the seal will trash within a minute,
btdt) and on the input shaft spline.
