Aut trans repl w/o removing differential.

Yes my friends.  It can be done.  My brother and I swapped the auto
transmission in an 84 5ks without removing the differential.  We had to
cut and splice the exhaust
pipe but that beats axle bolts and bell housing bolts all to pieces.  You
must be careful that you wiggle things a lot and, on final approach, one
person turns the crankshaft while the other wiggles and pushes the tranny
into place.  If anyone has
questions, feel free to reply.

By the way, the rebuild was easy as well.  I can't imaging why someone
would put a used transmission in one of these.  They are so easy to
rebuild!!
