the cup holder in question [or at least a made in china replica] is
sold by,  believe it or not, kmart for about $3.00.  this was a big
thread on the vanagon list awhile back because the kmart version is
virtually identical to the vw part number for vanagons and ev's for
about 20% of the vw price.  btw,  griot's garage sells a much nicer
version of the same idea that will hold realllly big cups. 
unfortunately,  i bought one for my v8q and can't find anywhere to put
it as i can't bring myself to put screws through the door panel....
