Well- Sometimes the bolts become coroded and/or afflicted with deposits which
interfere with the floating action of the caliper. A good mech will always
clean the old pins and lube them at reassembly. However, since there is a
shortage of good mechs, rather than risk a bad brake job, the pad vendors
include new pins. No complaints about bad pads, and you pay for the pins.
Sounds like a deal to me.
